Why Choose a Medical Weight Loss Program?
While there are many over-the-counter and pop weight-loss programs, only a doctor can offer patients a medical weight loss program that is custom tailored to their specific medical profile. Dr. Bobrowsky takes advantage of his many years of chiropractic care and state-of-the-art techniques to measure a patient’s body composition and design a weight loss program that meets their exact needs.
We custom-design a plan based on the hormonal makeup, unique metabolism and particular medical issues unique to each patient. Weight loss programs can range from special diets and exercise to B-12 injections and appetite suppressants, combined with advice for a lifelong maintenance plan from our support team.
How Is a Weight Loss Program Designed?
During an initial consultation, we determine a patient’s:
- Comprehensive body composition profile — body mass index (BMI) and muscle mass, body fat percentage and medical and surgical history
- Current metabolic issues, current medications, and medical and surgical history
- Target weight loss
An EKG is performed to ensure the patient has a normal sinus rhythm and is healthy to begin a diet program.
What Are Your Weight Loss Programs Like?
After a patient’s consultation, measurements and pictures are taken for later comparison. A program is set up for a bi-weekly tracking of BMI, muscle mass, weight, and water weight. Work-outs and meetings for encouragement and support are scheduled.
Depending on a patient’s medical profile, supplements may be prescribed, including one or more of the following:
- Oral appetite suppressants like Phentermine and Qsymia. Both reduce a patient’s appetite while still allowing for homemade meals.
- Injections may be used in the place of oral medications to boost a patient’s energy and metabolize fat. These can include weekly B-12 injections. B-12 assists the body in metabolizing fat and protein into energy. Lipo B that contains amino acids and vitamins that help aid proper liver function. A healthy liver works better in cleansing the body of toxins. Lipo B also aids the body in metabolizing fat and promotes the flow of fat and bile from the liver.
